Description
SR TBT is a 100% active moisture-sensitive alkoxy titanate used across various industries. It is commonly used to cross-link polymers with hydroxyl or carboxyl functionality. In coating applications, this increases the hardness, heat resistance, and chemical resistance of cured films. SR TBT is also used as a binder to form polymeric titanium dioxide films on surfaces. As a catalyst, SR TBT acts as a Lewis acid and is well suited for esterification, condensation, and addition reactions. It eliminates byproducts, increases yield, and is much lower in toxicity than other metal catalysts, such as tin. This makes SR TBT a good replacement for organostannanes and is particularly used in the production of phthalate-free plasticizers and DEG polyesters.
